Download the New for iOS Ventura

The wait is almost over! Apple has finally released the latest version of its operating system, iOS 16.4, and it's now available for download on compatible iPhone and iPad devices. But before you get excited, there are a few things to keep in mind.

Firstly, it may take some time for the update to become available for all devices. If you don't see it right away, just check back after an hour or so. To update your device, go to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone or iPad.

So, what's new in iOS 16.4? This latest version brings several exciting features and improvements, including support for 5G Standalone, expanded availability of 5G in additional countries, and the reintroduction of Apple's HomeKit architecture. Additionally, there are some undocumented new features to discover!

Other notable updates include resolving issues such as Ask to Buy requests from children failing to appear on the parent's device and Matter-compatible thermostats becoming unresponsive when paired to Apple Home. Cupertino has also optimized Crash Detection for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro models.

Moreover, iOS 16.4 now provides notifications for web apps added to the Home Screen and an expanded ability for duplicates album in Photos to detect duplicate photos and videos in an iCloud Shared Photo Library. Cellular calls can also use voice isolation to prioritize your voice and block ambient noise.

The update also includes several accessibility features, such as VoiceOver support for maps in the Weather app and an automatic dimming setting for video when flashes of light or strobe effects are detected.

Last but not least, the release notes for iOS 16.4 include the addition of 21 new emojis to the emoji keyboard, featuring animals, hand gestures, and objects.

In related news, Apple has also released updated versions of its operating systems for the Apple TV and HomePod lineup. WatchOS 9.4 is now available for Apple Watch owners, while Mac users can upgrade to macOS Ventura 13.3. Starting today, iPhone and iPad users can update to iOS 16.4 and iPadOS 16.4.
